Today marks week 11 of my pregnancy! Life is still good in the first trimester, no morning sickness, some aversion to specific foods (i.e. Chicken, most anything fried and berries...sad face), a couple weird food "cravings" I guess you could say...like today I thought it'd be great to eat a loaded baked potato...not weird to some, but I don't particularly care for baked potatoes...different but enjoyable nonetheless! I am exhausted; I haven't slept through the night in weeks, not so much to get up to use the bathroom, rather, since I can't sleep on my back or stomach I am forced into the uncomfortable position of the dreaded side. Now, if you've met my bed hog of a dog Spike, you'll understand my particular predicament. You see, Spike is a snuggler, he loves to sleep either pressed up against Ben or myself. As of late, Spike has taken a liking to sleeping against me, and only me, all.night.long. Because I'm sleeping on my side, Spike has taken this opportunity to take up my side of the bed completely. He has himself at about a 45 degree angle leaving me clinging to the mattress seam for dear life. My arm always falls asleep so 45 minutes in I have to sit up, get growled at by mr crabby pants as I scoot him to the other side of the bed and switch to my other side. Bear in mind this happens, I kid you not, at least 10 times in one night! I canNOT wait until my stomach takes up my ENTIRE half of the bed, then I'll get the last laugh!! :)
Other than that, the little one is growing like crazy. According to the millions of websites I look at weekly, little Ziggy is now the size of a large lime, fitting nicely inside the grapefruit that is my uterus. Why, I ask, must everything with pregnancy be related to foods?! :) We have any check up next week, I assume nothing new will be reported at that time, just standard monthly test business. I'm excited as next week marks the end of the first trimester. I've been on eggshells since we found out, every tinge sends me into panic mode, "is that normal", "is that considered a cramp?" I'm sure I'll still have those moments, but hopefully they won't be as frequent! I am hoping I can con my doc into letting us take a peek at the appointment after this to get a sex for little Ziggy. I'm anxious to get started on the room and picking out names!
In closing here are some bump pictures I know you have all been eagerly awaiting. For whatever quack has said that women do not show during their first pregnancy until well into their second trimester, I present you exhibits A, B and C. I've gained 4 pounds.....and a cup size. :) Hope you are all doing great! LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
Exhibit A: Week 7 - I could consider this bloat, fine, whatever. 1 point to you quack.
Exhibit B: Hmmm, is that a bump I spy...why yes, I believe it is!
Exhibit C: If this is not a bump I have a very serious problem! :) That, my friends and family, is my bump! Ohh and aww accordingly! :)

PS that second picture is from Week 9 and the last I took tonight, Week 11 :)
